I'm currently reading The War of the Worlds and let me just say that the tripods in the book are much scarier than the ones in the Spielberg movie...

I really like Wells. The War of the Worlds is way better than the movie(s) based on it. Have you ever read the Time Machine? That is my favorite by him.
